After a lovely roast dinner in The Royal Oak, Long Sutton, we drove through Montacute on the way home. A beautiful village and we have great memories of days together with our families, climbing the hills and enjoying the house. The yellow stone buildings and narrow streets give it real character. As did this shop and its window display.

Valerie was better today. Was it the very slight heel on her shoes yesterday that pushed her hips out of joint?? She certainly looked better. Every little bit of better counts. We sat and watched the London Marathon and felt for those runners running in quite heavy rain at times. We were enjoying sunshine.

The journey home was quiet. Us that is. The roads were full but moving and it took three hours again.

Good to have had that too short a visit and now looking forward to our We4 days next month.
