“Flock to the Show”

These individually decorated sheep ( there are nearly 40 of them ) are dotted across Scotland waiting to be discovered and enjoyed during April and May. They have been created by some amazing artists and will eventually be auctioned for charity. We had read that two of them were at a farm where I spent many happy hours as a farm vet - part of the steading where some of that time was spent has been converted into a very successful farm shop . ( Extra) This little trip down memory lane seemed like a good birthday outing for me but our plans for a walk afterwards at the beach was curtailed by rain and hailstones - fairly typical Scottish Spring weather !

Flock to the Show is a large scale public art trail touring across Scotland to celebrate the return of Golden Shears to the Royal Highland Show 2023 in June. Golden Shears is a competition where the best shearers and wool handlers from over 30 different countries compete to become the World Champion . I have no doubt shearers from Australia and New Zealand will be in with a chance !
