A Day Worth Recording

Paddington

En-route to the Netherlands.  Such is the crumbling UK railway infrastructure, and the trauma of the ticketing system, that we the tickets we'd booked would have involved a messy and potentially catastrophically slow bus link because of a collapsing bridge.

It was impossible to discern what validity our tickets might or might not have had on other routes so we abandoned that booking and booked an explicit alternative route via Bristol - costing us a few extra quid for the sake of sanity.

I suspect Brunel would weep at what our railway service has become.

So, to the Netherlands, where one refillable travel pass will get you anywhere, by any route, by any means: train, tram, bus,... ah the simplicity of it.
