Bee on Berberis

For a short while after lunch the sun was out and it was warm enough for the bees to forage and for me to try to photograph them but it wasn’t too long before the dark clouds came over and there were a few drops of rain.

I was very sad to hear this morning that one of the pair of swans on our local loch has died of avian flu in recent days so there will be no cygnets this year. Two years ago the pair only managed to get one cygnet to adulthood, last year none and now we don’t even have a pair of adults, a terrible disease.
