Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

A perfect day

Caroline and I agreed that there as nowhere else we would rather be today.

We were on the Geology Walk in the Haltwhistle Walking Festival. The weather was perfect. We walked in Geltsdale and learned a lot about the different rocks in the area.

Our tutor was the enthusiastic Ian Jackson. "I just love rocks"

Note the large fold in the rocks behind us. We learned a lot of new words, including anticline and syncline.

Near the end, we climbed up to Tindale Fell and looked out to Dumfriesshire and Criffel.

I started to watch a Camversation presentation on Black and White photography this evening, but fell fast asleep!
