Black-winged Stilt - 60

I worked the full day at Burton today for a change and was lucky to see a rare visitor when a black-winged stilt was reported by Marsh Covert hide and stayed for half an hour or so (I mention the exact location for people who are familiar with the site). I managed to get across to the hide before it flew off although it was a bit distant. It is the first time I have seen one in this country.

At lunchtime I went out to see if I could see the yellow wagtail by the bunker hide and was fortunate to spot that as well (Bird 61). I also saw my first house martin, Cetti's warbler and whitethroat of the year so I did well.
