Home Again

Yesterday, after nearly 14 hours of travel we finally drove up to our house to unpack the suitcases. We knew there had been fresh falls of snow so we weren't surprised by the whiteness we found.
The drive up from Arlanda was uneventful and started in rather glorious weather, sun shining and snowless countryside. About half way up the car journey patches of soggy ice were seen on the lakes, and soon after that patches of snow appeared and the lakes were still frozen. About 100 kms from home, as darkness arrived, the fog and mist came in and the drive became strange and slow.
But we shared the driving, listened to podcasts, tried not to stress, and took it slowly when that was needed, eventually arriving safely. Hooray!
