Morning After

A slow start apart from being up to receive Bella while Jamie went off with Rachel to an orthotics appointment at Alltwen hospital near Porthmadog.   While he was gone I had a message from work asking if I could come in to man the shop for a few hours.   With rain forecast and a book review deadline fast approaching, this seemed a fair option as there would be some quiet moments which I might use to assess the book, a first supplement to Janis Ruksans 'The World of Crocuses' which I also reviewed for the AGS bulletin.   This worked out to plan :-)

After work Meg has a walk as the rain had held off and later Jamie came with me to pottery to make a base for a crochet project to be displayed on.  This went well and I managed to complete painting the glaze on another plant pot holder - this one has a fish motif on the outside.  Picture will follow.

Ruth is been kept in hospital as her condition has not significantly improved.  She's had visits from one of her support workers and Timmy cat has someone staying to keep him company at home.  She's moving to a specialist ward and at this stage we don't know when she'll be well enough to come home.  Mobile phones and the internet allow us to be in touch for long periods, even while I walk Meg or cook my tea, a great benefit of this digital age.  A big thank you to everyone who has messaged get well wishes.

Lewisia 'Little Plum'.  One of my unsuccessful entries last night.
