Lilac.       I actually prefer it before the tight buds open fully although this photo looks quite pretty with just a couple of them showing off their petals.

Work has ground to a halt on the driveway - not enough hardcore/limestone has been ordered and it's a holiday weekend here so it will be Tuesday at the earliest before it re-commences.
No big deal as the quote was for the total job not a daily rate so it's just a time thing.   Not too bothered about that either, to be honest.  It will be done when it's done.
