Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie goes shopping

JR went to the gym this morning!! First time for TEN days! Mind you, she took the car instead of the usual twenty minute brisk walk there and back. And when there was a lot of up-and-downs exercises, she had to pause, feeling a wee bit light headed…

A chap was coming to clean the oven, recommended by Hazel, and so Archie and I waited in, while JR then went for a haircut. The oven is sparkling now. We won’t be using it - keep it like that. We do have a small microwave/convection oven that we use more anyway.

I took Archie out over the Links. I was heading for the pet shop on the main road. Archie knew exactly where it was, and pushed open the door. It was full of lovely doggie treat smells, but amazingly enough, the woman did NOT have a wee stash of small treats for her doggie visitors - a BIG black mark in my book.

However, I did spend up large, got some of his favourites, which I cut up into tiny treats. Their collars were 30% off, so Archie chose a nice tartan one, though I think it might be a tad too wide for him. He hasn’t had a new collar since he was a puppy. You can see it better in the extra.

JR is itching to get the suitcases out, but I think she’s a wee bit ahead of herself…

Later, I took Archie out again. The graveyard was locked (it was only 5.30!) and so we walked down the lane. We came to Archie’s other favourite - the Hardware shop. It was shut too (Extra). Archie couldn’t believe it.

However, as we came by the local chippie (another of his favourite shops) he stopped just outside the open door and refused to move. The staff were busy inside, getting ready for the Friday evening rush. He gave a little hopeful woof. David, the owner, heard him - ‘Is that Archie?’ and Archie invited himself in, and got his treat.
