Clearing up

This morning quite a few villagers gathered to help with clearing the plant growth around the Village Hall.  Ivy and brambles were the main targets, but the hazel trees needed trimming to reduce the stems hanging over various roof structures.

In this photo, as well as the ladies moving cleared ivy and rotten fence panels, the lady in the centre is clearing leaf mould and extraneous growth from the water treatment system.  This system treats the effluent from the kitchen and the toilets to reduce the burden on the sewage system.  It's quite old, but still effective.  There might be a lesson there somewhere . . .

Most of those helping to clear this morning were at the thank you session last night.
