I am Larger, Better than I Thought

Title is from Whitman's Song of the Open Road.

Today Olivia and I discovered that roads could take each of us South and North respectively to end up in a magical place called Indianapolis. Sure, she got to come from the North and see polite, cheerful Indiana on her way in while I saw poor, strained, "y'all aren't from around here, are you?" Indiana, but at the end of our roads was the Indianapolis Museum of Art. We saw the Ai Weiwei exhibition, "According to What?" and I, at least, can't really put words to that.

Then we got lost in the woods in search of "Funky Bones" an installation which features prominently in John Green's The Fault in Our Stars. We met some Nerdfighters from Louisville there. We argued like second graders. We considered the metaphorical implications of walking on "capital A" Art and how reconstructed tables encouraged us to walk on walls to that end.

And nothing, nothing could be said about it that Whitman didn't say.

Such is life.
