Blue skies and green fields

The best day of the week, with sunshine most of the day. Brother, sister and I were on our way soon after 9am to visit our elderly aunt in Aylesford, near Maidstone in Kent. On the way we called in at the National Trust property of Stoneacre, at Otham. A beautiful old house, previously a farmhouse, it was built originally in the 1480s. Although it has been much modified and enlarged over the centuries it is still an amazing and historical property and the staff very helpful and friendly.  Kent is such a green and pleasant county!

After spending a couple of hours with our aunt we made our way  back to Hampton and dinner with my brother and his wife. A good ending to a lovely day.
