Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

JR went to the gym, by car again. It's not quite as cold as usual today, though the sun never made it through the clouds.

Archie and I set off aimlessly, but with a coffee stop somewhere in mind. I then veered towards Summerhall, as it wasn't looking too conducive to sitting outside at, say, the caravan.

I tried, but didn't manage to resist the huge croissants. We got a wee bit wet on the way home. We stopped and looked in at the closed Hardware Store again. But David, the chippie owner, banged the window as we passed and called us back for a doggie treat. We thought he was closed, so that was a bonus.

In the afternoon, I contacted a new dog sitter. We really need to have people we can call on. We're lucky because we've got Jan coming to stay here when we go on our cruise (next week!!) She actually suggested it, bless her, as she did it for a few days last year. And Abi is stepping in both weekends to give her a wee break.

Anyway, the new sitters are going to give Archie a test run with a couple of days this week, before we go away. We went round to meet them and they're a delightful young couple who were charmed by Archie's tricks, and his general playfulness. They have a back garden and are in a handy place for walks.

I was too busy to look for my 'capsule wardrobe' today...
