Green Alkanet

Green Alkanet, Pentaglottis Semperviren
The leaves are green but the flowers are bright blue.
It is a common weed around here but attracts many pollinators.

Today's weather has been much the same as yesterday but with more rain.
Today I followed the old maxim 'When it is dull, look for colour'.  Well, it wasn't hard finding this as its colour really shouts out at you - "Blip me", "Blip me".Unable to resist, I hereby offer you this blue beauty.  The intensity of the blue is best appreciated when seen with a black background in the gallery view.

A word of caution for anyone thinking of growing it in your garden - once established, it is nigh impossible to eradicate.  It has a very long  and deep taproot that can regenerate from just a small part left in the ground.
