The wind on the hill

Brother and I had a final day out together, heading southwards through the  Surrey Hills to Betchworth, where we hoped to walk through the old chalk quarry, but didn't quite manage to find the right access. Not to worry, we saw the part of it where cowslips were growing in profusion and walked through some ancient yew woods. I spotted a slow worm on the path - my extra today.

We had a walk through a historic road tunnel in Reigate, photographed a couple of old churches and went to see the windmill on Reigate Heath. Our final stop of the day was the windmill on Wray Common, near Reigate.

A good last day - home tomorrow.
