You Used To Live There

Off to the local "Discounter" (as they are called here*) and I happened upon my favourite squirrel.  It used to live in this ex-walnut tree.  It was lovely to see it again.  The squirrel, not the pile of logs.

The supermarket was mobbed so naturally there was only one till open.  It seems to be a theme here - think about how many people you would need to employ to have everything run smoothly, then half that number, and then half it again.  Only certain people are allowed to operate the tills and the rest are only allowed to restock shelves.

Cue queues.  Especially after a holiday.  People have managed 2 days without shopping - it's a marvel that so many survived.  Which would explain why paying for things is such a tremendous surprise to all of them...

*Aldi, Lidl & Netto are considered discounters and not supermarkets.  The reasoning for which escapes me.
