Green

My first shield bug of the year, a Common Green. 

It was a mainly overcast cast day so just a couple of Speckled Wood butterflies in the park. 

Later, another final, this time for the Halifax and District League Challenge Cup. Hebden Royd Red Star were taking on Denholme United at The Shay in Halifax in front enthusiastic local followings. Both teams play in the League’s Premier Division. Denholme raced into a two goal league with Red Star pegging them back by half time. After several near misses at either end it finished 2-2 and then went straight to penalties. Denholme emerged the winners 3-1 after the shootout thanks to a couple of good saves from their keeper.
