Kawandi

This is my version of a Kawandi quilt, originally made by the Siddi women in India. It's just a case of finding a piece of fabric and stitching it in place but more appealing to my fussy eye than the Western crazy quilt. Here, the fabric is organised in rounds, starting on the outer edge and then working towards the middle.   It appeals to ask the bits I find gratifying about quilting (playing with colours, handsewing, total absorption) plus getting an instant result - what's not to love?!

So, a big thank you to A-M for showing us all how to do this (it's also gratifyingly simple) although I have a feeling I will be doing this late into the night ...

(I did :-0)
