At Last

Over the years I have tried a number of times to raise Anemone narcissiflora from seed and never got beyond a few leaves.   Now, outside in the raised sand bed I have succeeded ... well almost!   This is Anemone fasciculata, from the Caucasus and often considered just a geographical variant of the widespread Anemone narcissiflora which I have seen in the Alps and the Pyrenees.  This four year old seedling is still small, I'm hopeful it will increase in size in coming years.   The flowers are under 2cm across on a stem about 15cm tall.

A work day.  So tired I almost overslept.  Coronation Day.  The Talyllyn marked it with a coronation train at 11am, formed mostly of our vintage coaches and suitably decorated for the occasion - extra pic.   It was well patronised.   I was briefly distracted by the saga of delivering Ruth some different antibiotics from the hospital.  After discharge yesterday microbiology recommended a different antibiotic as the one that she had been taking was not dealing with the salmonella strain she has.  The delivery was twice delayed.  She's started the course tonight but is still feeling grotty.  Hopefully better times ahead.

After work.  Food, some time in the greenhouse, a walk for Meg at sunset.   Some zeds to catch upon tonight.
