No.1 tarn

The first of 4 tarns on today's tramp. We climbed the ridge in the middle distance to gain as much height as possible before sidling into the basin.

No.2 tarn is a boggy patch. We shivered beside tarn no.3 for lunch beneath the summit of Mt Izard. Tarn no.4 remains an objective for another day. The temperature plunged during lunch and we bailed for shelter from the wind and a slightly warmer temperature at a lower altitude.

I love the Craigieburn Range. There's so many adventures to be had here and it's right on my doorstep. I'm grateful for that.
