Acts of deliberate notice

You know those evenings that just feel magical?

D and I went out bat watching for the first time this year. There were soooo many bugs at the lake that they were drifting along in clouds. A feast for any hungry bat.

They were slow to come out but when they did there were so many of them. We saw noctules, pipistrelles and Daubenton's and some of the pipistrelles flew so close that we could hear their little squeaks and the sounds of their wings flapping.

The moon was coming up behind the trees and it was round and full and huge on the horizon. Such a special night.
