The calm....

before the party. The hall looked a treat and ready to receive the revellers when we finished it off this morning. 
People arrived this afternoon to enjoy a sociable mingle and a right royal feast. Sandwiches were provided and everybody who came brought nibbles both savoury and sweet. The room was full of happy chatter and laughter, worth all the preparation effort.
I was pleased to go home after a couple of hours when most people were beginning to disperse. Some, the younger ones, were returning in the evening for music and dancing. Everyone was also invited to that but after three days of preparation and the gatherings Saturday and Sunday I was ready to put my feet up at home and enjoy the evening concert. 
I have a busy week ahead with plans for every day; thank goodness for retirement!
