Tranquil river scene

We have been granted a few unexpected days to ourselves as a friend who was coming to stay for a few days has contracted a sickness bug from her young granddaughter. As many grandparent blippers will testify young children are super spreaders of all sorts of diseases going.

With this new found time we parked on the other side of town at Waitrose and walked along the river into Maidstone and back, mainly for a coffee but also to complete a few errands. The building in the background is part of the sewage works.

We were late back, not having lunch until gone 2.00pm so we utilised the remainder of the afternoon in the garden and greenhouse. I potted some leeks and chillies and sowed more radish and lettuce.

We were expecting showers this afternoon, had a little rain about teatime; it seems that there were heavy, thundery showers in other parts of the country.

This evening we had another enjoyable session playing various songs together. We’re going to have to select 8 to 10 songs that we practice on a regular basis.

No news about Doreen’s hearing aids. The care home have carried out a full search.
