No rain today!!

We have had a good day and were able to walk around looking at the sights.  We found The Passage, a beautiful, elegant area of shops and enjoyed window shopping.  Next we walked by the Parliament buildings and the Royal Palace (quite different to Buckingham Palace).  We walked through a lovely shopping area and browsed a wonderful shop full of interesting things for the home.  Thank goodness we’re travelling light and can’t buy anything or we might have been tempted.  We visited the Pulchri Studio, which is an association of artists located in a beautiful building on the most beautiful avenue in Europe, the Lange Voorhout. It was interesting to wander around viewing the works of art and when we’d finished we had lunch in the café.

The shops here are beautiful and elegant and their wares are beautifully displayed.  It was a delight to just wander and look and enjoy.

We returned to the hotel late afternoon when the temperature had dropped and a cold wind popped up.  We have decided to cycle to Gouda tomorrow via Delft and needed to find accommodation.  I think we managed to secure the last room in Gouda and will stay two nights so we have a chance to look around and maybe visit the Cheese Museum.

Well, we did succumb and returned to the same restaurant for supper tonight.  We enjoyed the Linguine Polpette (meatballs in a tomato sauce) and some Montepulciano red wine.

The main blip shows the Parliament buildings and the Royal Palace.  The first extra shows views of several buildings that caught our eye.  The second extra shows interesting things in shop windows and places we walked by.
