Wayfarer

Back to the rain! We did manage a brief  walk to the  local wildlife area, where we were amazed to see how much the vegetation had grown in the past couple of weeks. The cowslips and primroses are now swamped by grass, nettles, dead nettles, hogweed and  burdock. However, our wildflower meadow is looking promising,  thanks to our mowing regime last year which involved the careful  removal of hogweed seeds, while  allowing the  yellow rattle seeds to remain on- site.
This is one of the flower heads on one of the  Wayfaring trees (Viburnum lantana). We also have Guelder Rose plants (Viburnum opulus), but  not yet in flower.
