Secret weapon

These are some of the cuttings I took last week and are currently living on my bedroom window sill where I hope they will thrive and grow roots.
I was a teenager when I fell in love with the art of Kay Nielsen, an illustrator, and quite a lot older than that when I finally realised that much of what I liked was his inclusion of silver birch trees. I have always wanted one and so I hope that one day, one of these cuttings will grow into a tree at the end of my garden. It's all beginning to feel that bit closer to reality. Certainly close enough to try to start off some cultivation.
