Cherry-ripe

Fresh cherries, like fresh asparagus, are still a great celebration of the height of Spring.

For this dessert, you simply pit the fruit, add a dollop of banana custard, and then annoint it with chocolate sauce.

The custard consists of hemp seeds, frozen bananas and vanilla. The choc sauce is coconut oil, cacao powder and blended dates.

For seconds I didn't bother pitting the cherries first - so I had the bonus of that childish glee that comes with spitting out the pits instead (best avoided in front of strangers).
