Gaia the Earth at the Mackintosh Church, Glasgow

This morning I went to see ‘Gaia’, the artwork by Luke Jerram in Queen’s Cross Church designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The exhibit opened today and runs until 24th June.

I have seen photos of it in other churches and museums around the world and was looking forward to quite a spectacle. Queen’s Cross Church is fairly plain in design and the light was not great this morning so I was a bit underwhelmed but still really glad to have seen it for myself. I think it may look more impressive at night and there are a few concerts being held in the venue while it is there which I think will be very atmospheric.
