Warriston Cemetery, Edinburgh

I had booked us on to a walk today at 2.30pm, at Warriston Cemetery through the Friends of the National Galleries of Scotland.
We left home at 10.30am and had a quick visit to see blipper nadinepierce and her Pentland Aromatics stall at a Craft Fair at Napier University, picking up a few lovely smelling products, the car smelt great!
We parked at a padlocked gate to the cemetery and headed off for lunch not realising that the walk to the meeting point was almost all the way round the outside of the cemetery from where we had parked.
The actual walk then lasted for two and a half hours and was very interesting with the guide showing us the graves of many artists and architects of Edinburgh’s past, she told us that there were over 69,000 people buried in the cemetery so we could clearly not visit them all!
We had arranged to pop in to see a friend before heading back to Glasgow, so got home just before 8pm, made dinner and now catching up on the day.

Thanks to Marlieske for Derelict Sunday.
