.. of butterflies and orchids.

Sheepleas is an ancient woodland and chalk grassland nature reserve in West Horsley, Surrey. It is renown for its wildflower meadows with butterflies and orchids, and although the day started off cool and dull I headed over there to see what I could find.

With the late spring it probably wasn't too surprising that there wasn't an orchid to be seen and only a few brimstone butterflies zooming around. However, there was plenty of bugle, which on initial glance could be mistaken for an early orchid. I was lucky enough catch a brimstone  feeding on one.
