Lodgers

These doves have already raised and then chased away 2 offspring this year. We keep thinking they are working on the next lot, but when they appear together to feed that’s clearly not the case. The female - on the right here - has lost/damaged some feathers on her back, and he has a missing tail feather or two, so there may have been some nest raiding.

Anyway, they are pretty tame now and tolerate us being quite close providing we don’t move suddenly. So, despite the increasing rain, I remained half-cloaked by some tall weeds until they were done.

Earlier, we were up and out reasonably early for a couple of vide greniers. Excellent purple velvet jacket and a wool coat for CarbBoy and I got a ring.

Tomorrow, this little girl will start her Finals.
