Super Bloom

Didn’t have to go very far to see this amazing display. This flower bed along the path is maintained by several volunteers who haul bottles of water, tools and plants in a little red wagon. These gardeners have cleared out invasive ice plant and shown us what native plants can look like, and there is a changing display with the seasons.
The Extra commemorates nesting season of the Brandt’s cormorants. I happened to be in the right spot to see the egg when the parents changed duties this morning. They can have up to four eggs, but I only counted one. The blue throats are visible during mating season.
