Nature Diary... Early summer in the garden
When it was safe to do so without frightening any little birds I carefully eased an opening in the Weigela bush (see yesterday's blip) and eased my camera through to photograph the very small bird feeder, (13cm x10cm), and next to it the suet filled half coconut, both of which the little Blue Tits have now successfully located and are enjoying in comparative safety as the big birds can't squeeze into the Weigela bush, and I hope the nearby newly arrived rather large cats can't either.
The lovely little Mouse Crown Cactus photographed 3 days ago continues to flourish and has opened three splendid flowers with many more tiny buds beginning to appear which will be a splendid sight when they all open.
The self-seeded Aquilegia continues to produce beautiful healthy flowers with some pristine white ones now opening as well.
It seems as though the somewhat cold start to the month of May might just about be turning into a hint of how the weather in May always used to be. Here's hoping...
