Nature Diary... Weigela thriviing in the sunshine

Another beautiful sunny day with blue sky and no wind all day.
The Weigela bush is thriving and it now has a little secret which only the smallest of the birds has discovered.
Too compact for bigger birds to force their way into, the tiny little Blue Tits have no such trouble and often sit in there and rest. Now though they have something else to venture in to find because tied discreetly in the centre is a purpose build very small bird feeder filled with mixed feed, and a shop-bought fat filled half coconut.
It's been wonderful to watch the Blue Tits swooping in through gaps in the branches, and careful inspection this evening showed that the level of seed in the feeder has reduced, and there have been lots of little pecks at the coconut. Success!
