Nature Diary... Tranquility

Such a beautiful day, with a brief wind early in the morning then a lovely day of peace and tranquility in the warmth of May sunshine at last.

The beautiful Blackbird hasn't visited recently, but a change in feeding stations has made it safer for the smaller birds to feed and has been deterring the much bigger birds. In addition carefully observed and now successfully barricaded entrance gaps in the hedges has successfully made the recently-arrived-in-the-neighbourhood two new, very large cats go and hunt elsewhere I'm relieved to say. 

It was a pleasure to finally see the lovely blackbird hopping about in the garden once again this morning, and toward day's end it was delightful to manage to photograph, way high up on the hill, the cows all lying peacefully together in the last of the day's sunshine.
