a lifetime burning

We arrived in Macon this afternoon to find that as it is Ascension Day and a national holiday many of the town's hospitality businesses are shut.

Fortunately though, not all were shut, and we had a very pleasant afternoon wandering around.  Large areas of the town's pedestrianised centre are currently subject to significant works.  New paving is being laid everywhere and many of the buildings are in the course of renovation.  I suspect that were we to come back in a year or so's time we would be amazed at the transformation.

There’s a Citroen owners club event at the hotel, the car park is full of old Citroens - see the extra for a small sample
