From the bedroom balcony…

Our view these last days. Ok, the constant drone of traffic on the M5 has always been in the background but it’s been too distant to worry us. It’s been so good and Valerie has felt well and in less pain. She gets around with her crutches and the nausea passes as the day moves on. We’ve had some tough conversations.

Today a friend came with Neil to do the journey back to Yeovil. We left at almost the same time and they were already home as we got to Sparkford. Another four hours ahead for us. Little Sis got us home safely and then took herself back to Chingford. My turn to drive next trip.

D has had full days while I’ve been away and then tomorrow he goes off on the long established Boys’ Weekend, now in its twenty-seventh year. They are off to Shropshire. As the years pass, the walks get shorter but the company remains the same.. excellent. I think there will be fourteen in the group this time. So it’s been a bit of a case of ships passing in the night here but it’s all good. He’s just baked his signature Friendship cake. It smells wonderful!

It takes time to readjust after these We4 days together. We will plan another asap.
