Calm amidst the chaos

Today we were invited to  lunch by  C and S who live in Kings Worthy, about five miles away. As it was a fine day we decided to cycle, which turned out to be a wise move, because the westward carriageway  of the M3 was closed all around Winchester, for most of the day, after an accident,  causing huge traffic congestion through the city centre.
We sat in their  garden after lunch which was very pleasant. S grows  lots of different  fruit (in cages C has constructed to keep out the birds) and she had made a delicious summer pudding using berries she had grown last year and frozen. I think her love of fruit growing is something to do with her having grown up in Pershore in the Vale of Evesham, famed for its fruit farms.
The  blip is of a small stream close to the centre of  Winchester which we cycled past, coming  home, where all was quiet and peaceful, despite the grid lock on the roads just a stone's throw away.
