Acts of deliberate notice

Day one of holiday!

Exploring Warkworth Castle and town with my wonderful family.

I have very few memories of being here as a child. The strongest is of hiring a rowboat and rowing up the river, an activity we repeated on subsequent visits and my brother and I enjoyed it so much.

You appreciate things differently as an adult. Castles before used to be places for hide-and-seek, running around and seeing what lies around each corner. As an adult, guidebooks hold far more appeal. D and I can spend hours painstakingly observing every detail pointed out by a good guidebook, and with R and V doing the same a quick castle visit easily takes up four or five hours.
