Blue Jacket

On our way out of Canowindra this morning we drove up to Blue Jacket lookout. It was a perfect day and the sweeping views were spectacular. The avenue of trees along the road to the lookout were in full autumn glory.

I don’t know why it is called ‘Blue Jacket’. In the USA the term might be applied to a Union soldier or a Shawnee Indian chief. Well, so Google says. But in Canowindra?
