Les Alpilles

What a change 24 hours can bring to the weather.  After yesterday's drizzle we had some beautiful sunshine this morning and set off Southwards to Les Alpilles. We visited Les Baux-de-Provence (see the main image) for lunch.  Sadly they couldn't squeeze us in at the the 3 Michelin starred Restaurant L'Oustau de Baumanière - just kidding, we're not on that kind of a budget!

We had a very enjoyable time wandering around and visited the Musée Yves-Brayer (a local painter), which was also hosting an exhibition of Robert Doisneau's photography which was fascinating.

The first extra is of a very distinctive pinnacle of the local rock that just cried out for some mono treatment.   The second extra is the inside of l'eglise St Vincent, which is partially carved out of the rocky massif that Les Beaux stands on and the final shot is of Cathy :-)
