Low Tide on Victoria Day

So…here we are with that question for the 3rd year…   Will THIS be our last year here at the island?    Time will tell.   We’re not younger or more fit.  But we’re happy and grateful.

Very low tide for a very fun walk today..I was so heartened to see more sea stars than I’ve seen in years!  The sea star wasting desease that wiped them out was 2014-15.    There  were more oysters in different areas, less mussels (altho it’s early in the season for them) definitely more stars, always lots of clams.  Had to make a collage of them and others …sea anemone, sea cucumber, snails, oysters, seaweeds, but no moon snails... (extra)    The not so good is there is a huge infestation of tent caterpillars on the willows.
The main blip shows the tide out beyond the farthest pilings for our wharf…I love walking under here….and our neighbor’s dock in back…they were here for a chat/catchup this morning til they got visitors.   We’ll see them more this year, maybe.

I know it's late to do this but Im adding an extra to yesterday now that it's working well, for the folks who have actually been on this ferry, (amazingly quite a few)  to show how close this island is......
