Wednesday

The day finally arrived for the "private" tour of Stonehenge that we won in a raffle!

We arrived at 7.15am having left the house at 6.45am. I didn't realise quite how close we live.

A perfect morning and we took many photos.  The circle looks fairly small from the perimeter but once inside, the stones are huge.

The dates and history of the site and the landscape are mind boggling and fascinating. We were very fortunate to have David Dawson, director of Wiltshire museum, as our guide. Also, another guy, Simon, who was just a bit too big for his boots.

Stunning landscape and beautiful weather. We stopped for breakfast in town afterwards and then Hetty got her walk.

Extras.
