Sad but True

Yellow 'Orange Blossom'

This is really a golden Philadelphus , but what makes it special for me is that I brought it to my current garden from my much-loved and greatly-missed last garden. There it was far too cold for this beautiful shrub and it never grew much, let alone flower, when it lived there. Here in the valley it's gained two metres in height and is a mass of sweetly smelling, golden leafed, ivory blooms.Wonderful.

As for the rest of the day, that was a waste of time. It was cold and rainy, just like Spring all over again.Everyone at work seemed weary and lacking their usual bounciness. To top it all we had a power-cut late morning and all the children thought that they would be sent home because of it. Think again!

So now it's almost nine in the evening. My thirteen year old is going off to a Pony Club Games Camp in Kelso tomorrow morning, and they are camping,..and it's forcasting RAIN! Woopee!!!! Weekend- time has come again!
