Urban walk

This morning Mr C and I went to town. I needed to get a screw put into my sunglasses and he needed to change stuff he’d got in Rohan. He told the assistant that the style police hadn’t approved his colour choices. Too right!

Then we went to Marion and Ken’s for lunch. It was a lovely veggie feast - salad, spicy smashed carrots, and a rice, cabbage, feta and pine nut salad. We were able to eat in their garden then they took us on an urban walk down Waggonways past the Byker Wall (a large block of council flats very innovative when built in the 1970s being a long colourful unbroken block of 620 maisonettes), down to marina at St Peter’s Basin and along the Tyne then up the Ouseburn and back to the house in Heaton. The blip is the Ouseburn with the tide out. The building on the left is Seven Stories and the one on the right west an old factory, now artists studios and workshops. It was great to catch up - Marion reassured Mr C that being 79+1 is no big deal. He is not convinced.

Then we called on #3 daughter and were taken to her allotment to see all the work she had done. Nathaniel came along and I had to throw the ball to give him goalkeeping practice at a bit of rough ground.

Over 16000 steps today. I’m tired!
