Ceanothus

The Ceanothus seems to be producing far more flowers than usual. It’s quite remarkable how vibrant the colours are in the sunshine. But not only the Ceanothus - the holly and rowan are laden with flowers too. There are several possible explanations for this phenomenon that I can think of.
1. They aren’t any different from any other year - it’s just that your memory is hopeless, fool
2. You’ve gave them a pruning last year so this has spurred them on
3. Conditions this spring have been perfect: plenty water followed by plenty sun
4. It’s a portent. Yes, a bad thing
Clearly, I think it’s number four. Seems most likely.
As to the day, there was a brief meet up with the son again to assist in things of Dad’s concern. Then the kitchen people arrived to measure up and look at options. Oh yes. And finally, much later, we got ourselves up to date with Succession by watching the penultimate programme. Oh my word, so many things we’re going to miss. I thought it was possibly a bit far-fetched till I saw Jeff Bezos with his skintight top and heart shaped sunglasses; oh yes, and his monster yacht with bare tittied figurehead in the likeness of his pouting girlfriend. Vulgar, vulgar people.
