The Lozarithm Lens

By Lozarithm

Woody Wednesday (24th May 2023)

Not only was it Woody Wednesday it was also the birthday of Refna, one day and an enviable number of years after mine. During our tea break we finished off an Indulgence chocolate cake from Mr & Mrs Spotlight Kid for both our birthdays.
This lilac is one of two that have recently bloomed. The cherry tree on the left that I planted circa 1992 has beautiful bark but sadly has a canker and is due to be severely truncated in a few weeks, whilst saving the main trunk.

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Joe Clay - Cracker Jack (recorded 24 May 1956, New York NY)
Joe Clay (vocal) with Mickey Baker (ld gtr), Skeeter Davis (gtr), Leonard Gaskin (bass), Bobby Donaldson and Joe Marshall (drums)
Recorded 67 years ago to the day, this is another recent Cerys Matthew play (from 5th March), but which I knew from Mark Lamarr's shows many years ago and have in my collection. Joe Clay was a Cajun rockabilly artist from Gretna LA who played the Louisiana Hayride with Elvis Presley and even played drums for him on tour and guitar for him on some Sun records. There's also a version of this by Janis Martin. The great session guitarist Mickey Baker is on this track.
During the day news came in of the passing of Tina Turner, who will be the subject of the next day's LOTD.
