Truly massive orchids!

Another gorgeous day - not a cloud in the sky though a brisk easterly wind. It's Finola's birthday so we took them to the Heron Gallery for lunch. A delightful spot looking it's very best and after we'd eaten our toasties al fresco we wandered around the extensive grounds which include a wildflower meadow and ginormous pond. The most impressive wildflowers were the orchids, large and chunky and in fat clusters - I think they're marsh orchids but am happy to be corrected. The lilies on the pond were also incredible and coming in many different shades.

Later we went for a bouncy swim, the water is definitely getting warmer. Then there was some serious lounging down by our pond. That's about it really, it all feels very summer holidayish.
