Something old amongst all the new

This wonderful traditional wooden Japanese house is nestled amongst a number of newer apartment blocks which tower over it on all sides. It is hard to see much of the house because of the high walls but I imagine fabulous paper sliding screens and tatami floors. Of what little I can see, I love the carved pattern on this metal gate.

The room within is the great fact about the building.
